Complimentary Readiness Quiz

How Ready Are You for Value Analysis?

Fifteen questions, about three minutes. Written by advisors who have sat on hospital value analysis committees. These are the questions the committee will ask you; better to answer them here first.

15 questions · 5 dimensions · instant grade and read-out

Be honest with yourself. Yes means you could show it to a committee this week. Partly means it exists but would not survive committee scrutiny. Not yet means it is still on the list.

Dimension 1 of 5

Process Knowledge

Do you know the room you are walking into?

1Could you walk a colleague through how a hospital value analysis review runs, from intake request to committee decision?
2Before engaging a hospital, do you find out how mature its value analysis process is and who owns your product category?
3Do your forecasts and sales timelines assume a review can take anywhere from three months to a year?

Dimension 2 of 5

Evidence & Documentation

If it is not documented, it never happened.

4Is every claim you would make to a committee backed by a document you can hand over?
5Without peer-reviewed studies, could you still assemble a credible evidence file from FDA submission data, predicate comparisons, customer outcomes, and callable references?
6Is your evidence packaged for each audience: the data for physicians, the patient and workflow impact for nurses?

Dimension 3 of 5

Economics

The financial test is the true cost of care, not the price of your product.

7Can you show cost per procedure or per patient, and current spend versus projected spend, for a specific hospital?
8Does your financial story lead with the true cost of care, including reimbursement, instead of the price of the product?
9Could you defend your savings or cost avoidance math in front of a CFO or a supply chain vice president?

Dimension 4 of 5

Stakeholders & Champions

The committee hears from your champions more than it hears from you.

10Have you mapped every stakeholder your product touches, from clinicians and infection prevention to finance and supply chain?
11Does each target account have a clinical champion you have coached on what the committee will ask them?
12Do you know the objections each stakeholder group will raise, with written answers ready?

Dimension 5 of 5

Operational Readiness

Committees weigh how hard you are to adopt, not just how good you are.

13Can you state your contract position on request: GPO, regional, and local agreements, expiration dates, and where pricing can flex?
14Have you graded your own product's conversion difficulty the way committees do, for example on AHVAP's one to four scale?
15Are your implementation commitments in writing: education, training, conversion support, and logistics?

Your read-out is ready

Tell us who it is for and your grade appears immediately, with a read-out across all five dimensions.
